Eat a Nutritional Meal and Meet New Friends
At the Senior Citizens Center, we understand the importance of a good meal and we also realize that for many people situations in their life make it difficult to address this need.

Teaming Up with Erie County
We have teamed up with Erie County & Meals On Wheels to provide a nutritional meal weekdays at 12:00 noon for a nominal, voluntary contribution of $3.00.

Meals at Two Locations
The meals are served at our main center on Ensminger Road and at the Mang Community Center on Wilber Avenue. Not only do they provide good nutrition, but they also give everyone an opportunity to meet new friends. To reserve your spot for the meal, stop by either location or call:

Transportation Service for Seniors

The Senior Citizens Center has transportation available for senior citizens ages 60 and up who reside in the Town of Tonawanda or the Village of Kenmore. The vans are owned by the Town of Tonawanda which service our Ken-Ton area and certain surrounding areas.

Scheduling a Pick-Up
The Town of Tonawanda Senior Center has a dispatch office that schedules and dispatches the vans. To schedule a van, call (716) 875-1029, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm only.

The van service runs Monday through Friday, with the first pickup time being 9:00 am and the last return ride home at 3:30 pm.

Transportation Guidelines

  • Vans may be scheduled up to one-week prior to the day the van is needed. Reservations can always be made less than one week in advance if there are any available reservations left.
  • Seniors must be ready 15 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time. Be prepared to wait approximately 30 minutes to one hour for your return ride. This may not happen every time, but please be prepared by bringing a book, etc.

Fees
The fees are $3 for in-town transportation ($6 round trip) and $6 for out-of-town transportation ($12 round trip). View example destinations, or ask for clarification when you call to schedule your appointment.
