Responsibilities
The Personnel office of the Town of Tonawanda deals with many facets of employment and labor relations, including:
  • All applications for town employment, which include full-time, part-time and seasonal positions
  • Civil service resources, such as exam bulletins and exam applications, for both Erie County and New York State
  • Civil service exam announcements
  • Administration of the New York State (NYS) retirement system and Blue Cross/ Blue Shield health insurance

Personnel FAQ's

From time to time, positions for employment become open. For part-time work, job inquiries may be made directly to the department that you are interested in. For full-time civil service positions, you must apply at Erie County Civil Service to take an examination for the position. For full-time non-civil service titles, recommendations are made from the department head.
