The Town of Tonawanda is in the process of updating its 1940’s era Zoning Law. The existing law has been added to many times over the years by various consulting projects and is currently a patchwork of contrarian code language that leads to inefficiency and many questions about what is allowed to happen in Town regarding development proposals. The revised law will be a clear and concise law that streamlines the process for future development projects and eliminates the question of “what can I do with my property?”

The Town’s Comprehensive Plan update published in 2015 also calls for several upgrades to the existing Zoning Law. The following document link provides a summary of the proposed changes to the law:
