The Town of Tonawanda Youth, Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with American Legion Post #205, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2472 and the Village of Kenmore announces that they will hold the Annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 29, 2017 at 11 am.  This is one of the finest and largest parades in all of New York State.  Truly a traditional event that everyone will enjoy!  

The day will start out with services at the following cemeteries:

8:00 AM         Failing Cemetery-Delaware Rd & Willowbreeze

8:15 AM         Veteran’s Monument @ Colvin & Brighton

8:30 AM         Vietnam Memorial-Brighton Rd. entrance @ Flagpole

8:45 AM         V F W Monument in Elm Lawn Cemetery

9:00 AM         Field of Honor in Elm Lawn Cemetery

9:15 AM         World War II Monument in Mt. Olivet Cemetery

9:20 AM         Municipal Building

9:30 AM         Monument in front of the Post-3354 Delaware Ave.

The Parade will start at 11:00 AM sharp. 

This year’s Grand Marshall will be Brigadier General Anthony F. Caruana, US Army (Retired) and former Supervisor of the Town of Tonawanda.

Dan Crangle, Councilman and Chairman for the Youth, Parks and Recreation Committee says “Let us never forget the price our veterans paid to preserve our freedom. The Memorial Day Parade affords us the opportunity to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday: to honor those who have died for our country and ensure they’ll never be forgotten. All are encouraged to come out and show support along the parade route and at the various Memorial Services for the dedication and service given by our Veterans, both young and old.”
