Camp Special Place
For children ages 5-12 with special needs, Camp Special Place aims to provide a recreational setting in which to increase socialization skills, physical activity, enrichment, and expression, provide parents with a respite during the long summer recess, and emphasize basic living skills, manners, speech and language skills, and fine motor skills. Camp runs 9am-3pm Monday-Friday. Activities include field trips, arts and crafts, games, swimming, playground time, and more at the Kenmore Community Center, 135 Wilber Avenue, in Mang Park. Applications available at www.ttypr.com and at the Youth, Parks & Recreation office at 299 Decatur Road, Buffalo, NY 14223. Space is limited. Applications accepted April 3-June 2.The cost is $75 per week for residents of the Town of Tonawanda and Village of Kenmore and $110 per week for non-residents.
